Paxton House is a 10 bed supported transitional accommodation facility located in Fitzroy North. Close to amenities, Paxton House is semi staffed by community support workers with specialist knowledge and experience in the ABI sector. The Paxton House program duration spans from six months to two years depending on individual need. Service users are supported to develop Individualised Plans which guide their rehabilitation in all life areas. Emphasis is placed on supporting individuals to link with and access local community supports, participate within and become valued members of the broader community.

The Paxton House program is a service which encourages and enables independence through person directed support which is geared towards skill building and community involvement. Where possible, residents are encouraged and supported to transition into more independent living options via the arbias continuum of support model where they live through supports sought via the local community or via the Disability Support Register.

This shared supported accommodation facility is the ideal entry point for individuals who require support to maintain their accommodation and increase confidence through skill development and who have a long term goal of living independently.

Our Lower Plenty site is has capacity for 4 individuals who are able and want to living independently within the community. A ten minute walk to the bus stop, this residence is located in a quiet area on a large block of land.

This home has eight hours of weekly attendant care support attached to it which enable resident's access to regular in-home support to assist with the maintenance of communal living. In addition to these supports, residents also have access to weekly Outreach support and an afterhours Emergency On call service which operates seven days per week.

These residences are two near-new two and three bedroom units located close to public transport and amenities (including Northland). Whilst encouraging independence and privacy, these units are suitable to individuals who have low to moderate support needs.

With nine hours of support weekly and access to the Outreach and afterhours Emergency On call services; this property is suitable for individuals who require long term accommodation with supports.

The Marshall St location provides accommodation for 8 individuals. A four minute walk provides access to a full range of services including public transport, shops, local councils services, library, post office and banking.

Constructed within a two storey structure with disability access to two of the units these long term accommodation options are designed to provide residents with secure, private and independent living options which encourage and enable community inclusion. These are open plan units comprising a kitchen, dining, lounge, and bed area. Toilet and shower facilities are in a separate room within each unit and residents have access to a communal laundry with an adjacent sitting area, communal garden/courtyard and BBQ area. Parking is available for all residents.

arbias has 10 nomination rights at this brand new housing complex. These are made up of 7 single dwellings and 3 single dwellings with disability access. All of these units have a separate bathroom area. In total there are 86 units within the development incorporating families, low income earners and people living on pensions.

The Wellington Street complex is located near to Gertrude Street and Smith Street, on the cusp of Fitzroy. The development is closely located near to the Neighborhood Justice Centre, public transport and walking distance to the CBD.

arbias have 8 nomination rights at this property, also just recently completed. All are single dwelling units with separate bathrooms. In total there are 54 units within the development. Flockhart Street is in close proximity to the Victoria Gardens Shopping Complex, Yarra Bend Park and is easily accessible to the Victoria Street Tram.

Based on the existing Common Ground model of Supportive Housing, there is an office on the ground floor of the Collingwood complex where multidisciplinary staffing teams from various organisations, including arbias , will co-locate with the intention of providing collaborative and consultative supports for residents based at both locations. The Wellington Street complex provides satellite support for residents at the Flockhart Street complex.

Both locations have secure access 24 hours a day and access to 24 hour on call support in an emergency.

All apartments are supplied with basic furnishings – a bed, dining table and white goods. Residents can access a communal laundry on each level of the building.
