The arbias Accommodation Service is a person centred and individualised service designed to meet a range of accommodation needs for people with brain impairment acquired through alcohol or other drug use. The Accommodation Service promotes independence and we work with you to develop the skills and resources you need for an independent life. We can be your personal training and network service and assist you in exploring ways of achieving your goals, support you in connecting with your local community and link with other services provided by arbias such as our Prevocational & Employment Service, Recreation Service, Case Management Service and Community Support Service.
At this first meeting the Coordinator will also outline the information required by arbias (i.e. Support Plan, other services received etc.). This initial meeting also provides an opportunity for you to determine whether or not we are the most appropriate accommodation service for you. If it is determined that we are not the most appropriate service option for you, then the relevant worker concerned will assist you to access an alternative service.
The aim of our accommodation services is for the person to maintain independence and control in all aspects of their life with support from a small staff team. Residents are responsible for their living environment, cooking meals, washing and maintaining their living areas. Residents are encouraged to have a key role in the house decision making through regular meetings. Fees arbias Accommodation Services are primarily funded by a range of government, corporate and philanthropic organisations. Eligibility

Prior to initiating a move into one of our accommodation services, the Accommodation Coordinator will meet with you to discuss your accommodation options. Because we have a person centred focus, it is important that we talk to you about your expectations, interests and get to know a bit about you so that we can create a match with the other people you may be living with.
