arbias Community Support is designed to support adults
with acquired brain impairment as result of alcohol or other drug use
to enjoy the lifestyle of their choice, in the environment of their
choice.
We work with you to develop the skills and resources you need for an independent life. We can be your personal training and network service and assist you in exploring ways of achieving your goals and independence. We can help you in any of the following areas:
Assisting a person to acquire the skills and knowledge to independently get out and about. With practice and the right support you can feel confident to catch a train, taxi or bus.
This service assists people to prepare to independently move into their own home in the community.
Living independently can be tremendously satisfying. Learning to shop, cook, plan a budget and all the other things required to manage your household can be achieved.
If you are interested in pursuing an education or further developing literacy, we can support you in expanding your educational goals.
Computers and technology are rapidly becoming a way of life. We can introduce you to the computer and basic computer programs including Internet and email and link you with programs run in your local community.
If you want to explore employment opportunities we are able to assess and develop a plan to assist you with your employment goals. Our support services currently provide support during the week days however depending on individual events and demand, our staff can provide support on evenings and weekends. This service is available to people eligible for support under Assisted Community Living packages (ACL’s), funding packages provided by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) or Slow to Recover (STR) package holders.
