FAQ

How does acquired brain impairment affect people?

The effects of acquired brain impairment can range from mild impairments such as slight problems with memory, to severe impairment where most aspects of a persons thinking, emotions, behaviour relationships and career are catastrophically affected. Alcohol and substance related brain impairment are often termed ‘invisible conditions’ – unlike physical disability the person does not appear to be impaired yet they may have considerable difficulties functioning in the community without support.
